Meyer stocks aluminum and steel drop-side and fixed-side dump bodies that are available in lengths ranging from 8′ – 16′.
Drop-Side Dump Bodies
With drop sides, operators can easily lower one or more sides of the dump body to facilitate quick and convenient loading and unloading of materials from multiple angles. This feature is particularly beneficial for applications where precise placement of materials is required or when loading/unloading in tight spaces. Drop-side dump bodies allow for efficient use of space, as they can accommodate oversized or irregularly shaped loads more effectively than fixed-sided dump bodies. The ability to drop sides provides improved safety for operators by reducing the need for manual handling of heavy materials, minimizing the risk of injuries and accidents.
Fixed-Side Dump Bodies
Fixed-side dump bodies offer increased stability and strength. The fixed sides provide structural support to the dump body, making it well-suited for transporting heavier loads without the risk of buckling or deformation. This added stability is particularly beneficial for hauling dense materials such as gravel, sand, or demolition debris. Fixed-side dump bodies are often preferred for applications where containment of materials is crucial, as the solid sides help prevent spillage during transport. Fixed-side dump bodies typically have a simpler design and fewer moving parts compared to drop-side or removable-side options, resulting in lower maintenance requirements and reduced potential for mechanical failures. Overall, fixed-side dump bodies offer robust construction, enhanced containment capabilities, and reliable performance, making them an excellent choice for heavy-duty hauling operations.
